God, Jesus, Disciples: ONE

"I and the Father are one."
John 10:30

Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given me, that they may be one just as we are one....   that they may all be one just as You, Father, are in me and I in You, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that You sent me.   The glory which You have given me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as we are one, I in them and You in me, that they may be perfected in oneness/unity, so that the world may know that You sent me, and loved them, just as You have loved me.
John 17:11,20-23

Throughout the Gospel of John, Jesus explains HOW he is one with God the Father.  He was one with his God and Father in function and purpose, one with the Father in the things he was doing.

For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for He gives the Spirit without measure.
John 3:34

My food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to accomplish His work.
John 4:34

My Father is working until now, and I myself am working.... the Son can do nothing of himself, unless it is something he sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also likewise does gor the Father loves the Son, and shows him all things that He Himself is doing and the Father will show him greater works than these, so that you will marvel....the works which the Father has given me to finish, the very works that I do testify about me, that the Father has sent me.
John 5:17-20,36

I have come in the name of my Father and you do not receive me.  If another comes in his own name, you will receive him.   How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the  only God?
John 5:43-44

My teaching is not mine, but His who sent me.   If anyone is willing to do His will, he will know of the teaching, whether it is of God or whether I speak from myself.   He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but he who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, he is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.
John 7:16-18.

I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you, but He who sent me is true; and the things which I heard from Him, these I speak to the world....When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am  and I do nothing on my own but I speak these things as the Father taught me.
John 8:26-28

We must work the works of Him who sent me.
John 9:4

I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in the name of my Father, these testify of me... My Father, who has given [the sheep] to me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand.   I and the Father are one.... I showed you many good works from the Father.  For which of them are you stoning me?...  If I do not do the works of my Father, do not believe me;    but if I do them, though you do not believe me, believe the works, so that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.
John 10:29-38

For I did not speak on my own but the Father Himself who sent me has given me a command as to what to say and what to speak.   I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told me.
John 12:49-50

He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, 'Show us the Father'?   Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own, but the Father abiding in me does the works.  Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.
John 14:9-11

He who does not love Me does not keep my words and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.
John 14:24.

I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given me to do.... They have come to know that everything You have given me is from You for the words which You gave me I have given to them.
John 17:7-8.

Jesus was led by the Spirit of his God and Father abiding in him.  He only said and did what the Spirit of God led him to say and do.  In this way, Jesus was one with the Father in everything he did.  He was one with the Father in a functional sense and Jesus prays that this disciples will be one with he himself and the Father just as he and the Father were one.
