And Jesus, looking around, said to his disciples, "How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the Kingdom of God!" The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, "Children, how hard it is to enter the Kingdom of God! Mark 10:23-24
Satan has a kingdom
If Satan casts out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?
Matthew 12:26
…to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in me.
Acts 26:18
Acts 26:18
And he led Him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to him, "I will give You all this authority and its glory; for it has been handed over to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore if you worship before me, it shall all be yours."
Luke 4:5-7.
Now is the judgment of this world; now the ruler of this world will be cast out.
John 12:31
I will no longer talk much with you, for the ruler of this world is coming, and he has nothing in me.
John 14:30
He will convict the world concerning… judgment, because the ruler of this world has been judged.
John 16:11
The world is under the authority of Satan, the Evil one, the Serpent, the Dragon. Jesus’ Kingdom is not of this world. If we want to be saved from the coming wrath of God, we must be delivered out of the authority of darkness into the Kingdom of the Son whom God loves. This is the Good News of the Kingdom, that is, that we can be delivered out of the authority of Satan and into the Kingdom of God.
The Kingdom of God
In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a Kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever.
Daniel 2:44
I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, and he came up to the Ancient of Days and was presented before Him. And to him was given dominion, glory and a Kingdom, that all the peoples, nations and men of every language might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion which will not pass away; And his Kingdom is one which will not be destroyed.
Daniel 7:13-14
The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.
Mark 1:15
Thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light for He has delivered us from the authority of darkness, and transferred us to the Kingdom of His beloved Son.
Colossians 1:12-13. See Galatians 1:4; Colossians 2:15; Ephesians 6:12.
My Kingdom is not of this world. If my Kingdom were of this world, then my servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, my Kingdom is not of this realm.
John 18:36.
Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Matthew 6:10
Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again/from above he cannot see the Kingdom of God.... unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.
John 3:3,5
Those who are born again and are led by the Spirit of God are citizens of the Kingdom of God. They pilgrims and sojourners in foreign territory. Their Lord and King is Jesus who is at the right hand of God. They submit to him now and when he comes the totality of his authority will be made manifest. Although all things have been put under his feet by his God and Father, we do not yet see all things subjected to him.
The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ and He will reign forever and ever."
Revelation 11:15
Now the salvation, and the power, and the Kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night.
Revelation 12:10.
And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses. From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS."
Revelation 19:11-16
For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. The last enemy that will be abolished is death. For He has put all things in subjection under his feet. But when He says, "All things are put in subjection," it is evident that He is excepted who put all things in subjection to him. When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to him, so that God may be all in all.
1 Corinthians 15:25-28.
The Good News of the Kingdom
Tne English word "gospel" is an archaic word which simply means "good news" or "good message" or "good telling." It translates the Greek word euaggelion which means "good message." The root word aggelos is the word we translate as "angel" or "messenger."
The Hebrew word for "good news" is interesting. It is the word bsr and is a verb form of the noun bsr which is the Hebrew word for "flesh." This brings to mind John's words, "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us." The mystery of Christ which had been foretold by the prophets had become manifested in the flesh. Since this flesh was the Word of God, this flesh named Jesus was the Good News. Being the Word of the Father, he himself was the Good Message from the Father in the things this man said and did.
John the Baptist first came preaching the Good News, "Repent for the Kingdom of God/Heaven is at hand." And once Jesus had been tested in the wilderness, he also preached the same message. The "Kingdom" is not really to be understood as a place but as God's reign/kingship in the world. It is His authority and power present in this realm. God's power and authority was manifested in the things Jesus said and the things he did. Being led by the Spirit, God the Father was at work in Jesus. His teaching was amazing because his words were not his own but the Father's who had sent him by anointing him at the Jordan with the Spirit. In this way, Jesus expressed God the Father to the people of Israel and Jesus was the Father's Word, the Father's Good News.
God's Kingdom authority and power is realized to us through the risen Jesus who God seated at His right hand. Through Jesus we can have the Holy Spirit in our hearts to walk as he walk and serve God as he served.
